Hi. I'm Jun Iwata. I am a professor at the Department of Medical English Education, Faculty of Medicine, Shimane University, Japan. I earned my Master degree in English Language Teaching from University of Technology, Sydney. I have been teaching English in Japan for about 30 years. My research interests include English Language Education and Computer-Assisted Language Learning and now I am especially interested in teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Hello. My name is John Telloyan and I'm an English Lecturer at Department of Medical English Education, Faculty of Medicine, Shimane University (Izumo Campus). I was born and brought up in Owatonna, Minnesota, USA. I earned a BA at Pillsbury College (Owatonna, MN) and earned my MA from Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University, Mankato). I have taught English in China (1 year), jr. high and high school in America (4.5 years) and English in Japan (23 years). I presently teach advanced listening and conversation plus writing skills to 1st year medical students, health awareness and English conversation to nursing students and medical English to 2nd year medical students. Hello. My name is Lynne Murphy and I'm the Assistant Professor of English here at the Department of Medical English Education. Originally from Ireland, I have been living and teaching in Japan since 2004. Since the beginning of my pursuit of mastery of the Japanese Language, I have managed to achieve Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. I now enjoy utilizing my Japanese language skills in the areas of translation and interpretation. I earned my BA(Hons) in Applied Languages at the Institute of Technology, Dublin. I also hold an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Limerick. I look forward to making further contributions in the area of cross-cultural communication in Japan.
